TikTok gets 75 days more in America, will social media app be able to avoid ban?

US President Donald Trump has again extended the deadline to sell Chinese social media app TikTok. Now this video sharing app has got another 75 days time to remain in America without selling.

It is necessary to sell this app to maintain services in America or it will be banned in America.

Trump has said that he does not want to let this app close. Earlier he had said that if an agreement is reached on the sale of TikTok, then he can give some relaxation in the tariff imposed on Chinese imports.

Large number of TikTok users in America are against the ban

In fact, a large number of TikTok users in America are against banning it. According to media reports, after Trump's tariff announcement this week, China has indicated that it will not allow the sale of TikTok in the US.

Chuck Schumer, leader of Trump's opposition Democratic Party in the US Senate, has said that the President is only trying to divert attention from the tariff issue.

TikTok has been accused of collecting excessive data

Critics have often accused TikTok of collecting excessive data. Researchers at Australian cyber company Internet 2.0 published a report in July 2022, which is often presented as evidence of allegations of data collection on TikTok.

Donald Trump, in his first term in 2020, alleged in an executive order that TikTok's data collection "may potentially help China track the location of government employees and contactors, use their personal information for blackmailing, and spy on them."

TikTok was shut down before the ban in the US, this was the reason behind the ban in India as well.
