Will the talks on tariff move forward?
New Delhi and Washington are now holding negotiations to seal a bilateral trade agreement that is expected to address a variety of issues, including tariff and market access.
From the beginning of Donald Trump's second term, questions have been raised about how America's relations with India are going to be. President Trump has even called India the tariff king in recent times.
As soon as he came to power, US President Donald Trump gave a message about what his policy will be this time by imposing reciprocal tariff on all countries about two hours before his meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After PM Modi's meeting with President Trump, no permanent solution and big concession was anniunced regarding tariff, but a bilateral trade dialogue has started to create a trade balance between the two countries.
Even before the Indian delegation leaving for America with a draft of a bilateral trade agreement to deal with tariff, US Vice President JD Vance is coming to India on a four-day visit with his family on Monday.
Deportation of illegal immigrants and students
In recent months, visas of about 1000 students studying in 160 universities and colleges in America have been cancelled. Some of these include Indian students as well. Along with this, the process of sending back illegal immigrants is also going on.
India can demand 'sensitive behavior' from America on the issue of students. Apart from this, there seems to be no change in the strategy of both the countries regarding this matter.
Not only India, no other country will be able to say this directly to America in this matter because it is completely their domestic matter. India is also not raising this issue much.
