US Vice President JD Vance will visit India, will meet PM Modi, what will be the agenda of talks


US Vice President JD Vance and his wife Usha Vance will come to India on a four-day visit from 21 April.


This information was given by the the Ministry of External Affairs of India and press secretary of JD Vance.


Vance will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to India. Bilateral talks will be held during this period.


The Ministry of External Affairs issued a statement saying Vance will be accompanied by Second Lady Mrs. Usha Vance, their children, and senior members of the U.S. Administration.


This will be Vice President Vance’s first visit to India. During the visit, he will be meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 21 April 2025. 


Will visit Jaipur and Agra 


The Vice President and his delegation will have other engagements in Delhi and are also scheduled to visit Jaipur and Agra before departing for Washington, D.C., on 24 April 2025.


The Ministry of External Affairs said the visit will provide an opportunity for both sides to review the progress in bilateral relations and the implementation of the outcomes of the India-U.S. Joint Statement issued on 13 February 2025 during the visit of pM Modi to the US. The two sides will also exchange views on regional and global developments of mutual interest.


At the same time, Vance's office issued a statement saying that the US Vice President will be on a visit to Italy and India from April 18 to 24.


JD Vance's visit is taking place at a time when recently US President Donald Trump has given 90 days relief from reciprocal tariff to other countries of the world except China.


Trump has reduced the reciprocal tariff to 10 percent uniformly while giving a temporary exemption of 90 days to other countries except China.


In such a situation, JD Vance's visit to India is being considered very important.
