What Anurag Thakur said on Rahul Gandhi's statement about elections in India and ECI

BJP MP Anurag Thakur has targeted the Congress and Rahul Gandhi over the remarks made by him about the Election Commission of India (ECI) in Boston.

“Even after losing multiple elections, some political parties and politicians don’t learn. They only keep raising questions on EVMs, the Election Commission and the democratic system,” Anurag Thakur told reporters.

“They go to countries around the world to defame India, but they don’t get votes among Indians,” he said.

"They should remember one thing that the vote will be cast by the people of India. Those who vacation abroad and go abroad to defame India, I would like to say to Rahul ji and his colleagues that the more you defame India, the more the people of India will respond," the BJP MP said.

Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the Election Commission has 'compromised' and 'there is something wrong in the system', referring to the Maharashtra Assembly elections.

At a ceremony in the US on Sunday, Rahul claimed that if said in simple terms, more people voted in the Maharashtra Assembly elections than the total number of adults in the state.
