The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has invited the heads of the Indian Armed Forces to the closing ceremony of IPL 2025 to be held in Ahmedabad on June 3.
BCCI has decided to dedicate the closing ceremony of the Indian Premier League 2025 to the Indian Armed Forces. This decision is not only a meaningful effort to combine sports and patriotism, but also a symbol of respect for the soldiers who are dedicated day and night to protect the country.
This move of BCCI has been appreciated by the head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir.
He said, "This is an incredible and commendable step. BCCI has taken a great initiative. The whole country is one and the country should salute the armed forces. I give a lot of credit to the armed forces, who are unconditionally helping, defending and protecting us."
IPL 2025 was stopped during the recent military conflict between India and Pakistan. After this, IPL matches have started again.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said, "Chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces, top officials and soldiers have been invited to the IPL final in Ahmedabad to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor."
According to BCCI sources, representatives of the Army, Air Force and Navy will be special invitees to the closing ceremony before the final match of IPL 2025. Also, the armed forces will be saluted through a grand tribute show. The ceremony will feature patriotic cultural presentations, live performances and army bands as well as sharing the stories of soldiers who have made the supreme sacrifice for the country.
The BCCI President also issued a statement saying, "It is a proud occasion for us to salute the strength that is the backbone of our country. We want every spectator to feel not just cricket but also respect for the country in this final."
