The Home Ministry held a meeting with the Chief Secretaries of all the states bordering Pakistan through video conferencing late night. Everyone should remain alert and be ready to deal with any firing or attack from across the border.
Amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, the central government has taken a big step. On Saturday night, the Home Secretary held an emergency meeting with the Chief Secretaries of the states bordering Pakistan and reviewed the border security situation. During this, he gave clear instructions that all the states should remain on alert in view of the situation.
Taking seriously the incidents of Pakistan breaking the ceasefire on the border and firing in Jammu and Kashmir, the Home Ministry has asked to keep the civil defense and other security mechanisms fully active. This meeting took place at a time when India has given a clear message to Pakistan and instructed the army to respond strictly.
The Home Secretary told the state governments to be fully prepared in case of any kind of activity or attack from across the border. Priority was given to the safety of the citizens and emphasis was laid on keeping all the necessary resources ready to deal with the emergency situation.
In the meeting, the Home Ministry indicated that in case the situation worsens, the border states will have to take immediate action. All departments related to civil defense have been put on alert mode.
India and Pakistan have agreed to stop firing, but the agreement was violated by Pakistan. After the firing in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, India not only protested strongly but also alerted the states.
