Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh is once again on the world cinema scene. The feature film Homebound, shot extensively in and around Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, has been appreciated at the 78th Cannes Film Festival. The film was premiered in the "Cannes Un Certain Regard" section during the Cannes Film Festival.
This is the only Indian film that has been selected in this prestigious section. The film was praised by international filmmakers, directors as well as artists and audiences at the Cannes Film Festival and was honored with a 9-minute standing ovation. The association of internationally renowned, Oscar-winning, American film maker director Martin Scorsese with this film has strengthened its international reputation.
A favorite location for global film-making

In the year 2024, a major part of the film 'Homebound' has been shot in the natural, cultural and urban environment of Bhopal and surrounding areas of Madhya Pradesh. The international acclaim of the film is a testament to the success of the state's film-friendly policies and suitable locations according to the story of the film.
Fifth film to be shot in MP
Homebound is made under the banner of Dharma Productions. This is their fifth film to be shot in Madhya Pradesh. The film is produced by Karan Johar. The director is Neeraj Ghaywan, before this, the film "Masaan" made under his direction was also well received by the audience.
Homebound stars Ishaan Khattar, Vishal Jethwa and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The entire team is very happy to receive appreciation at the Cannes Film Festival. The Homebound team expressed their appreciation for the smooth shooting experience in Madhya Pradesh.

Minister of State for Culture, Tourism (Independent Charge) Dharmendra Singh Lodhi congratulated and wished the team of “Homebound” on this achievement. He said that the natural diversity, historical heritage and cinema-friendly environment of Madhya Pradesh have once again proved themselves.
Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board Sheo Shekhar Shukla congratulated the entire team along with the producer-directors and actors of the film “Homebound” for this achievement.
