After the Pahalgam attack, India had carried out air strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir on the intervening night of 6-7 May, after which tension deepened between India and Pakistan.

After this, both the countries had talked about attacking each other's military bases. On Saturday evening, India and Pakistan announced a ceasefire between the two countries.
