Kaveri has won more than 50 medals
Kaveri has got her name inscribed in golden letters in the field of sports with her hard work and determined struggle. Daughter Kaveri has won more than 50 medals at the national and international level in canoeing games and made the country proud.
Kaveri has won 1 bronze medal in the Asian Championship. She has won 45 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronze medals in the National Championships.
Used to catch fish
Kaveri, daughter of Madhya Pradesh, who once caught fish in the Narmada River to repay her father's debt, has overcome major challenges to make her way into the Indian Navy. Currently, Kaveri is serving the country as an AGPO (PT) officer in the Indian Navy.
Family has 11 members
Kaveri's family has 11 members, which includes parents, 7 sisters and 2 brothers. Her father used to support his family by fishing in Narmada. When it became difficult to run the family due to poor financial condition and low income, the father took a loan. Daughter Kaveri became her father's support in repaying this loan.
Received training in Water Sports Academy Bhopal
When a sports officer saw daughter Kaveri rowing a boat in the water, he inspired Kaveri to train in canoeing games. The sports officer sent Kaveri to Water Sports Academy Bhopal for training in canoeing games. After this, Kaveri made this skill her passion. Kaveri has won more than 50 medals in canoeing games one after the other at the national and international level and brought laurels to the country. For her achievements, the then Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan also gave Kaveri a reward of 11 lakh rupees.
Was selected in the Indian Navy last year
Kaveri got selected in the Indian Navy in the sports quota last year. When she reached her village after selection in the Navy, the family and the villagers welcomed their daughter with great pomp. In this journey from boat to Indian Navy, Kaveri had to face many struggles.
Even after so many struggles and adverse circumstances, Kaveri did not lose courage, rather she kept moving ahead with her high spirits. The result of this high spirits and hard work was that Kaveri, who once used to catch fish by driving a boat to repay her father's debt of 40 thousand rupees, is now serving the country by becoming an officer in the Indian Navy.
