Prime Minister Narendra Modi will provide a historic air travel service to Datia and Satna, two major pilgrimage sites in Madhya Pradesh, on May 31. PM Modi will virtually inaugurate the newly built airports in Datia and Satna from Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will also be present at the inauguration program.
CM Mohan Yadav has been engaged in connecting the major cities of the state with air facility since the beginning. Datia and Satna cities are very important from religious, industrial and social point of view. With the advent of airports here, pilgrims will be able to travel by air to reach Maa Pitambara Peeth in Datia, Maa Sharda of Maihar in Satna and Chitrakoot Dham, the witness of Shri Ram's exile.
This facility will make pilgrimage easier, and will also accelerate the all-round development of both regions.
19-seater aircraft will be able to land in Datia
The city of famous Shaktipeeth Maa Pitambara, Datia, will now be able to connect with the country even better through air service. After the airport inauguration by Prime Minister Modi, 19-seater aircraft will be able to land in the initial phase at the newly built airport spread over 124 acres at a cost of Rs 60 crore. A 1.81 km long and 30 meter wide runway has been built at the new airport. The airport parking has a parking facility for about 50 cars. Two check-in counters have been built at the airport for the convenience of passengers.
This airport has a capacity of ATR 72 aircraft. Fly Big Airlines flights will operate four days a week here. This airport will become a convenient means of travel for the people of Datia as well as the devotees coming from all over the country to visit Maa Pitambara, which will give new impetus to religious tourism.
Satna Airport will make pilgrimage easier
The construction work of the new airport has also been completed in Satna, the industrial capital of Vindhya region. Built at a cost of Rs 37 crore, this airport has been developed in a modern form by reconstructing the previously constructed runway. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) completed the construction work in record time on 31 October 2024 and the license was issued by DGCA on 20 December 2024.
This airport has a 12 hundred meter long runway, a terminal building built in 750 square meters, and two aircraft parking at a time. This airport is now fully ready to operate 19 seater aircraft. All the modern facilities in the airport – ATC tower, fire station, VIP lounge, special facilities for the Divyang and children, transformer, DG set, ambulance and security arrangements – have been provided.
Satna airport will give a new direction to industry, tourism, education
This airport will give a new direction to the industry, tourism, education and health services of not only Satna but the entire Vindhya region and will strengthen regional connectivity. With the opening of Satna Airport, there will be big convenience for those visiting Maihar's Sharda Devi, Lord Shri Ram's forest area in Chitrakoot, and Nanaji Deshmukh Gramodaya University in Chitrakoot, which has been developed as a center of knowledge. In addition to minerals, convenient air travel will also be ensured for industrialists coming to Satna and the surrounding area for industries such as cement production.
Satna's airport is opening new doors for the movement of pilgrims. With this, Prime Minister Shri Modi's vision of 'New India' is also coming true, in which the dream of providing big flight facilities to small cities has been cherished.
