Operation Sindoor: 3 special trains will run from Jammu and Udhampur for evacuation of people; border villages in Jaisalmer also being evacuated


Amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, people on the Indian side of the border in J&K are leaving their homes and moving to safer places to avoid heavy shelling near the Line of Control.


Indian Railways will run three special trains from Jammu and Udhampur to Delhi in view of the current situation with Pakistan.


An airstrike warning was issued in Chandigarh on Friday. The warning was issued from the Air Force Station. The Chandigarh administration has appealed to the people to stay indoors. People have also been asked to stay away from the windows of their homes.

There is an atmosphere of panic among the people due to the discovery of debris of missiles and drones in many districts of Punjab.


India has said that several drone and missile attacks from Pakistan have been foiled on the night of May 7 and 8.


After that, on May 8, i.e. Thursday, India said that an air defense system has been destroyed in Lahore.

Villages along the Pakistan border in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan are being evacuated. Villages are being evacuated within a radius of 20 kilometers from the border.


Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will hold a meeting with the Army Chiefs. General Upendra Dwivedi, Air Force Chief AP Singh, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi and Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan have reached the Defence Ministry.


Pakistan carried out drone and missile attacks at 11 places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan on Thursday night. Pakistani suicide drones also targeted Jammu Airport and Pathankot Air Force Station.


After this, India foiled these attacks with its defence system S-400. India has shot down more than 50 Pakistani drones on the LoC and International Border (IB). There is also news of Pakistani fighter jet being shot down in Pathankot. However, this has not been confirmed by the government.
