Pahalgam Attack: Pakistan will not take initiative to increase tension but will respond to action, says Deputy PM Ishaq Dar; what Saudi Arabia said?

After the Pahalgam attack, tension has escalated between India and Pakistan. Pakistan Information Minister Ataullah Tarar had said on Tuesday that India could take military action in the next 36 hours.

Now Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said, "Pakistan will not take initiative to increase tension, but if India takes any action, it will be strongly responded to."

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was addressing a press conference on Wednesday along with Pakistan Army Public Relations Director Ahmed Sharif. Pakistan Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan was also present.

Ishaq Dar said, "Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism and is saddened by the loss of life in the Pahalgam attack."

Ishaq Dar said, "We have said earlier and we reiterate once again that Pakistan has no connection with the Pahalgam incident and Pakistan condemns it and we have offered an impartial investigation of the incident."

On 22 April 2025, 26 people were killed in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam. Holding Pakistan responsible for this, India suspended the Indus Water Treaty and closed the Attari-Wagah border.

Pakistani citizens present in India were asked to leave the country within 48 hours and the presence of diplomats in both the countries was also affected.

Saudi Arabia has expressed concern

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has expressed concern over the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on this issue in a post on social media X.

The Foreign Ministry has said in its post, "Saudi Arabia expresses its concern over the growing tension between India and Pakistan and the continuous firing across the border from both countries."

The Saudi regime has appealed to both sides to reduce tension and find a diplomatic solution to the dispute. Saudi Arabia has appealed to both countries to work together for the peace and stability of the people and the region.

On Monday, China, America, Turkey and Qatar expressed hope that India and Pakistan will reduce tension. However, for the past several days, there has been firing between the armies of the two countries on the Line of Control (LoC).

On Wednesday morning, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif uploaded a video on his X account and also posted a post in Urdu. Khawaja Asif has said that 'immediate action can be taken' by India.
