PM Modi to virtually inaugurate 103 Amrit stations; what will be special in these stations?


Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give a big gift to railway passengers on Thursday (22 May 2025). PM Modi will virtually inaugurate 103 newly built Amrit stations across the country tomorrow. This is being considered a big step towards equipping railway stations with airport-like facilities.

PM Modi will virtually inaugurate 103 Amrit stations built in 18 states and union territories including Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh from Bikaner in Rajasthan on Thursday. These 103 Amrit stations have been built at a cost of more than Rs 1100 crore. These stations have been redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).

These includes six stations of Madhya Pradesh - Katni South, Shridham, Narmadapuram, Shajapur, Seoni and Orchha.

Amrit stations will become carrier of our great culture: PM

PM Modi has expressed happiness over the inauguration of 103 Amrit stations. PM posted on social media platform X and called 22 May a historic day for the railways. PM Modi said in a post on X that tomorrow 22 May is a historic day for the infrastructure of Indian Railways. Apart from being convenient, Amrit stations will promote connectivity and become the carrier of our great culture.

PM will inaugurate several major railway projects 

Apart from inaugurating 103 Amrit stations on May 22, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several major projects of railways worth more than Rs 26 thousand crores and dedicate them to the country. It is believed that this visit of PM Modi is going to bring big changes in important areas like roads, energy, water and renewable energy apart from railways.

What will be special in Amrit stations?

According to the information, every station has been designed according to local requirements. It will include long-term infrastructure like Roop Plaza, Parcel Hub, better city connectivity and green zone. The waiting area is being equipped with high-grade facilities, which will include cafeteria, small stalls, executive lounge and separate zones for small meetings. Apart from this, care has been taken to ensure that their design is in accordance with the local culture and tradition, like the design of Ahmedabad station is inspired by the Sun Temple of Motera.
