Former captain of the Indian cricket team and current captain of Chennai Super Kings Mahendra Singh Dhoni has said that he is not retiring from the Indian Premier League yet.
MS Dhoni-led team Chennai Super Kings played the last league match of this season of IPL against Gujarat Titans on Sunday. CSK has already been eliminated from this season of IPL.
After the match, Dhoni said, "Our season did not go well, but this was one of the perfect performances. Our fielding was not good this season, but today we took many good catches."
On the question of retirement, Dhoni said, "I have 4-5 months to take a decision, there is no hurry. It is important to keep the body fit."
"If cricketers start retiring on the basis of their performance, then some of them will retire at the age of 22. Now I will go to Ranchi, I will enjoy some bike rides."
He said, "I am not saying that I am retiring now and I am also not saying that I am coming back. I have a lot of time. I will think about it and then take a decision."
Dhoni hoped that CSK would have a good season next year when Ruturaj Gaikwad returns from his injury and joked that only his skipper's age makes him look old.
"Ruturaj doesn't need to worry about too many things next season. He will fit into one of those roles. You feel old. He is exactly 25 years younger than me, that makes me feel I am old," he said.
