British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the crash of the plane coming from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick is 'extremely sad news'.
He said, "I and the whole of Britain stand with the people killed in the accident and their families in this hour of grief."
Speaking to the media, he said, "A team of British investigators has left for Ahmedabad to assist in the investigation."
A total of 230 passengers and 12 crew members were on board the crashed B787 Dreamliner aircraft of Air India. It had 169 Indians, 53 British citizens, one Canadian and seven Dutch citizens.
Starmer said that the families of the British citizens on board the plane can get information from the British Foreign Ministry.
One of the worst accidents in aviation history: Trump
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has called the Ahmedabad plane crash 'one of the worst accidents in aviation history'.
Referring to the plane crash during an event at the White House, Trump said, "The plane crash was terrible. I have told them that we will do whatever we can. India is a big and strong country. I am sure they will handle it."
"But I have told them that we will do whatever we can... It was a terrible accident. It seems that most of the people have died."
Putin conveys condoling message to Murmu, Modi
Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed a condoling message to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling the incident "tragic".
"Please accept my deep condolences in connection with the tragic consequences of the plane crash at the Ahmedabad airport," an official statement read.
Putin expressed sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured in the accident.
Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov expressed sympathy to the affected people and the government.
"My heartfelt sympathy to the families and near ones of the victims and to all Indian people and the Government of India over this tragic major catastrophe," Alipov said in a post on X.
