Iran and Israel are on the brink of war and the two Middle East nations have already launched several waves of airstrikes against each other. The tensions escalated after Israeli armed forces took Iran by surprise and attacked Iran nuclear and military sites under ‘Operation Rising Lion’. Justifying the strikes, Israel said that it had intelligence indicating that Iran's nuclear programme had almost reached ‘point of no return’.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to bring Israel “to ruin,” accusing it of a “great crime.” Iran warned the US of consequences, alleging American coordination in the attacks.
If a war breaks out, which countries will support whom and which way will India stand? If case of war, the world's most powerful country America will openly support Israel, as it has been doing. America gave weapons and money to Israel during the war in Gaza. UK, France and Germany will also help Israel, as Western countries are against Iran's nuclear program.
Muslim countries of the Middle East will also support Israel, which include countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Jordan and Bahrain. All these Muslim countries will support Israel due to the Shia-Sunni dispute. Australia and Canada will also not back down from helping Israel.
Iran can get support from China and Russia
At the same time, Iran can get support from China and Russia, because both these countries are at loggerheads with America. Lebanon will openly help Iran because it gives financial and military support to Hezbollah. Hezbollah is Israel's biggest enemy. Yemen will also come out in support of Iran because of the Houthis. Apart from this, Syria, Iraq, Turkey and North Korea can also help Iran.
India will remain neutral
India has had good relations with both Israel and Iran. In such a situation, India will issue a neutral statement. However, if a war breaks out between Israel and Iran, it will be a difficult situation for India diplomatically.
