Madhya Pradesh: CM Mohan Yadav inaugurates ultra-modern planetarium in Dongla Ujjain


Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Saturday inaugurated the ultra-modern Varahamihir Planetarium in Dongla of Ujjain district. In this modern planetarium, children and visitors coming to Dongla will be provided information about the mysteries of astronomy through a 4K film.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav also sat with children in the Varahamihir Observatory Planetarium and watched a film based on the study of solar radiation and its waves. It is noteworthy that this ultra-modern digital planetarium has been established in Dongla by Acharya Varahamihir Nyas, with financial support from Avada Foundation and technical support from Deep Sky Planetarium, Kolkata.

The planetarium is also equipped with a digital projector and digital sound system. In this air-conditioned spherical planetarium, 55 people will be able to sit together and have an exciting experience. The cost of this planetarium is approximately Rs. 1.6 crore.


Shadow disappeared at Dongla Observatory

CM Mohan Yadav observed the rare astronomical phenomenon that occurs on 21st June at the Varahamihira Astronomical Observatory located in Dongla. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav observed the zero shadow phenomenon in the shadow operation system on the Shanku Yantra and explained to all present the concept of time variation and calendar calculation through solar movement. Acting as a teacher, he explained astronomical science based on the Indian knowledge tradition to the dignitaries and public representatives present.
