In Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has shown the way out to three MLAs of his own party. They are Manoj Kumar Pandey, Rakesh Pratap Singh and Abhay Singh. These three are the same MLAs who voted against the party in February 2024 during Rajya Sabha election. The three MLAs cast their votes in favor of BJP. Since then, they came under the csrutiny of the party and action was taken against them.
What did Samajwadi Party leaders say?
After Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav showed the way out to the three MLAs, there has been a lot of discussion. The question is also why the action was taken for cross voting after a full one and a half years.
Apart from this, not only these MLAs but four other MLAs also cross-voted with them. It is believed Rakesh Pandey, Puja Pal, Ashutosh Maurya and Vinod Chaturvedi ahad alsocross voted. But the party has not taken any action against them.
It is a matter of discussion why did the party not take any action against those MLAs. However, some leaders of the Samajwadi Party say that these three MLAs were speaking against the PDA formula of the Samajwadi Party, due to which the party showed them the way out.
Cross voting was done in Rajya Sabha elections
In the Rajya Sabha elections held in February 2024, all these MLAs voted against the party. Therefore the BJP MP won the Rajya Sabha seat by two votes. However, at that time the Lok Sabha elections were around the corner, due to which the party did not take any action against anyone. Now the party took action and showed them the way out.
Emphasis on strengthening organization before Panchayat polls
Actually, there is not much time left for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. Before this, panchayat elections will be held in the state. Along with the panchayat elections, all the parties are busy preparing for the assembly. Before the assembly elections, there is a focus on establishing discipline within the parties. In this context, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has, albeit belatedly, took action against MLAs. Political parties believe that strengthening their organization during the panchayat elections will make it easier to achieve victory in the assembly elections.
