Heavy rainfall has occurred in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday. Cloudburst occurred at 3 places in Kullu district. Due to this, flood situation has arisen at many places. Three people including a father and daughter were swept away in the water.
A video of the flood caused by cloudburst in Kullu has also surfaced. As a precautionary measure, the administration has issued a warning to the local people to remain alert. Not only this, people have been appealed not to go near the banks of rivers and streams and to pay attention to the warning issued by the administration.
The Brahma Ganga drain in Manikaran valley of Kullu is in spate after cloudburst. Apart from this, cloud burst was also reported from Jibhi and Jeeva drain at Sainj valley in Banjar. Cloudburst was also reported in Bathahad drain and Thela of Gadsa valley.
Culvert washed away
The cloudburst at Jeeva drain of Sainj valley washed away the culvert. The culvert was the sole means of transport to several villages in the area. Water entered houses due to cloudburst at Brahma Ganga drain. The district administration is taking stock of the situation along with a team of Revenue department at Jibhi and Bathahad drains.
ADM, Kullu Ashwani Kumar said, "There have been incidents of cloudburst and flash floods at many places in Kullu district. Cloudburst has been confirmed at Jiva Nala (Sainj), Shilagarh (Garhsa) valley, Stro Gallery (Manali) and Horangarh (Banjar) area.
In Sainj valley, Majhan Nala, which is around one km below the Jiva Trench Weir, experienced a cloudburst. Similarly, heavy water flow was recorded in Hurla Nala, Pacha Nala and Manihar Nala in Gadsa valley, due to which cloudburst is suspected in Shilagarh area".
On the other hand, a car fell into the canal in Haldwani, Uttarakhand on Wednesday morning. 4 out of 7 people in the car died including a three-day-old baby.
Heavy rain in Gujarat
