Monsoon covers entire nation, 5 killed due to lightning in Bihar, red alert in Uttarakhand, HP; see IMD predictions


Monsoon has knocked in Delhi on Sunday. After this, the Meteorological Department has announced that now the monsoon has covered the whole country. Due to this, there was heavy rain in Delhi-NCR on June 29, which has given relief to the people from the humid heat.

The monsoon reached the whole country about a week before its normal date, due to which there was rain in the national capital and other northern states and landslides occurred in many mountainous areas. According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon normally covers the whole country by July 8, but this time it has arrived before time.

5 killed due to lightning in Bihar

5 died due to lightning in Bhojpur, Buxar and Nalanda in Bihar. The water suddenly rose in Lagurahi Waterfall in Imamganj, Gaya on Sunday. 6 girls were swept away in the strong current. All the girls were safely evacuated.

Red alert in Uttarakhand, HP

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a 'red alert' for heavy rains on June 30 in several districts of Uttarakhand, including Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Haridwar and Nainital. 

The Shimla Meteorological Center has issued a similar 'red alert' for torrential rains for 10 districts of Himachal Pradesh. 20 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents since the arrival of monsoon in the state on June 20.

Schools will remain closed in Himachal Pradesh today

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has directed the Deputy Commissioners of Kangra, Mandi, Sirmaur and Solan districts to keep schools closed on June 30 in view of the 'red' alert issued by the Meteorological Department for heavy to very heavy rainfall.

The Meteorological Department said in a revised warning issued on Sunday evening that heavy to very heavy rains are likely at some places in Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur districts by Monday evening, heavy rains are likely at isolated places in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Shimla districts and at isolated places in Kullu and Chamba districts.

Monsoon active in Haryana

The monsoon has become active in Haryana. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert in the entire state today. It has been raining in Ambala, Yamunanagar, Panchkula and Jhajjar since late Sunday night. Currently, Faridabad, Panipat and Jhajjar are cloudy. There is a possibility of rain.

Heavy rain warning in 35 districts of UP

There is a rain alert in UP on Monday. Heavy rain warning has been issued in 35 districts, while lightning warning has been issued in 40 districts. In the last 24 hours, 11 people have died due to floods and lightning.

Red alert in 12 districts of Bihar

Monsoon is becoming active in South Bihar from June 30. Meteorological Center Patna has predicted heavy rain in all 19 districts of South Bihar from Monday. Red alert has been issued for heavy rain in 12 districts including Nawada, Gaya, Rohtas and Aurangabad. At the same time, there is also a forecast of strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour along with lightning in many districts.

Chances of rain in Maharashtra too

Pune Meteorological Department has predicted moderate rain in Konkan and Central Maharashtra. At the same time, warnings have been issued for winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour and moderate rain in some districts of North Central Maharashtra and Marathwada.

IMD prediction for July 1

Heavy rain is expected in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Chandigarh. There will be an orange alert for heavy rain here.

There will be a red alert for heavy rain in northeastern states including Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim. Landslides may occur in Meghalaya and floods in Assam.

A red alert for very heavy rain has been issued in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh from 1-3 July. Some districts of both the states may receive up to 4.5 inches of rain in 24 hours.

An orange alert may be issued in coastal states like Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana. There is a possibility of very heavy rain in Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kozhikode districts of Kerala.

An orange alert has been issued in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha. Rainy conditions will also persist in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa.
