After Home Minister Amit Shah's statement on the English language, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has reacted. Regarding this, Rahul Gandhi has released a video on X.
In this video, Rahul Gandhi has said, "Mohan Bhagwat says every day, brother, English should not be spoken. Then you look at the children of RSS, look at the children of BJP people and look at the children of ministers. Everyone is going to England to study."
Rahul Gandhi said, "Brother, English is a weapon. If you learn English, you can go anywhere. If you learn English, you will go to America, you will go to Japan. You can go anywhere. You can work in any company."
Rahul Gandhi said, "They say that English should not be studied, why should it not be studied? Because they do not want you people to enter big board rooms. They do not want you people to get jobs worth crores of rupees."
He said, "They want these jobs to remain theirs. Only they should attend English schools. Their contract should remain intact. But SC children should stay in SC hostels. They should not learn English; they should not do anything."
"They want the door to remain closed for you, but English is your biggest weapon because English will take you anywhere."
What Amit Shah had said?
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had said on Thursday, "Listen to me carefully, English speakers in this country will feel ashamed. The creation of such a society is not far now. I believe that the languages of our country are the jewels of our culture. Without the languages of our country, we will not be Indians."
Rahul Gandhi, while releasing the video and responding to this on Twitter, without naming Amit Shah, said, "English is not a dam, it is a bridge. English is not shame, it is power. English is not a chain - it is a tool to break chains. BJP and RSS do not want poor children of India to learn English - because they do not want you to ask questions, move ahead, be equal."
"In today's world, English is as important as your mother tongue - because it will provide employment, boost self-confidence."
Rahul further said, "Every language of India has soul, culture, knowledge. We have to cherish them - and at the same time teach English to every child. This is the way to an India that competes with the world and provides equal opportunities to every child."
