Asia Cup 2025 will be played in UAE. The tournament will start from September 9 and the final will be played on September 28. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President Mohsin Naqvi has given this information.
Fate of India vs. Pakistan clash not decided
India has got the hosting of Asia Cup 2025, but due to poor India-Pakistan relations, it will be played at a neutral venue. The tournament will be in T20 format.
However, there was no development on the potential India vs Pakistan clash, which has been in discussion for sometime after the Pahalgam terror attack in April that killed 26 lives.
Asia Cup 2023 was played in a hybrid model
Asia Cup 2023 was hosted by Pakistan. However, it was played in a hybrid model after India refused to tour Pakistan due to security reasons. All India's matches were held in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan declined to come to India to play in Asia Cup
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in April, Operation Sindoor was carried out by India on 6-7 May. 26 people were killed in the Pahalgam attack. Political relations between the two countries are bad. In such a situation, Pakistan declined to come to India to play in the Asia Cup. Therefore, ACC is organizing the tournament in UAE.

Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), wrote in a social media post, I am happy to inform that the ACC Asia Cup 2025 will now officially be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28. BCCI remain the hosts
Keeping the T20 World Cup 2026 in mind, the eight-team tournament will be played in the T20 format with the final to be played on September 28. Despite the tournament being held in UAE, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) remain the hosts of the Asia Cup 2025.
