Bihar Assembly Elections-2025: The mere mention of the Bihar elections has heightened the political climate, leading to major discontent among the opposition on account of the voter list revision which they say has been imposed by the Election Commission. This resentment has escalated to the point where the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) may consider boycotting the elections.
Tejashwi Yadav, the chief ministerial candidate for the opposition parties in Bihar, has made a statement in this connection. Although Lalu Prasad Yadav is the president of the RJD, Tejashwi Yadav exercises considerable control over the party. Given these circumstances, the prospect of an election boycott is a serious matter.
All opposition parties including Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul Gandhi are blaming the BJP for the voter list revision. The entire opposition alleges that the Election Commission is getting the voter list revised in Bihar at the behest of the BJP. There is a lot of rigging in this too.
It is better that EC extends the term of current govt
Talking to media, Tejashwi said he will talk to the people on the subject of boycott of elections. He said when the election will not be held honestly, when the election will be held on the voter list given by the BJP, then what is the meaning of such an election? It is better that the Election Commission extends the term of the current government. He said that they are openly being dishonest. He said that in such a situation democracy does not survive. The opposition is trying to save democracy.
