Eight cities of Madhya Pradesh awarded Swachh Survekshan 2024 awards in various categories; President Droaupadi Murmu felicitated Indore, Bhopal and other cities


Bhopal: President Smt. Droupadi Murmu felicitated Indore and other cities of Madhya Pradesh with Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 awards. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of State Shri Tokhan Sahu were also present. 

Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya and Minister of State Smt. Pratima Bagri received the award on behalf of the state at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. Mayors and corporation officials of the awarded cities were present on the occasion.



Indore awarded again

Indore was once again awarded the best city in the Swachh League Award in the category of cities with a population of more than 10 lakh. In the same category, Ujjain received the Best City Award in the category of cities with a population of 3 to 10 lakh. In the category of cities with a population of less than 20 thousand, Budhni was the best.



Capital Bhopal awarded Clean City Award

Capital Bhopal has received the second prize for Clean City in the category of population of more than 10 lakh. In the same category, Dewas received the first prize in cities with a population of 50 thousand to 3 lakh and Shahganj received the third prize in cities with a population of less than 20 thousand. Similarly, Jabalpur has been awarded in the category of Safai Mitra Safe City and Gwalior has been awarded the Promising Clean City.


Other cities of the state also excel

It is noteworthy that in the Swachh Survekshan-2024-25, Bhopal has come second, Jabalpur 5th and Gwalior 14th among the cities with a population of more than 10 lakh. 

203 cities of the state got star rating certification. In the survey, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur have got 7 star, Dewas, Rewa and Satna have got 5 star rank. 36 cities of the state have got 3 star and 161 cities have got one star rank. 

Urban Administration and Development Commissioner Shri Sanket Bhondve described the best performance of the cities of the state in terms of cleanliness as the result of the hard work of Safai Mitras. He said that efforts will be made to give the highest rank to all the urban areas of the state on the parameters of cleanliness.
