The Congress party is struggling with the politcal tussle in Karnataka, but the speculations of leadership change have now come to an end. However, it cannot be said that Deputy CM DK Shivakumar did not try for this. On Tuesday, a meeting was held in the presence of Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Surjewala. Apart from the MLAs of Karnataka, Deputy CM DK and CM Siddaramaiah were also present.
It was believed that this meeting was being held for leadership change in the state. It was speculated that DK Shivakumar will become the Chief Minister in place of CM Siddaramaiah. But this did not happen. DK Shivakumar himself rejected all the speculations. He said that there has been no change in the leadership. I do not need anyone's support. My priority is to win the assembly elections for them (party MLAs)."
Reiterating the words of DK Shivakumar, Congress General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala said that the meeting with party MLAs was not on the subject of leadership change in Karnataka. The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that there is no factionalism in the Congress and everyone is united. He said that the Congress will focus on the upcoming elections in the state instead of leadership change.
