Lok Sabha: Rajnath Singh says Operation Sindoor was not stopped under any pressure, what he said in response to Opposition's question

New Delhi: Completely rejecting the opposition's allegations of stopping Operation Sindoor under pressure, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in Lok Sabha on Monday that all the objectives of this operation were achieved and it was not stopped under pressure from anyone.

Initiating a special discussion on India's strong, successful and decisive Operation Sindoor in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in the House on Monday, Singh said that the whole world has seen our zero tolerance policy against terrorism and we are not going to back down from it. He said that Operation Sindoor was completely successful and the forces achieved their objective.

Rajnath said, "We did not stop it under pressure from anyone, rather we foiled every plan of the enemy. Our aim was not to wage war but to destroy the structures of terrorists, which was achieved in 22 minutes.''

Rajnath Singh  said that Pakistan had contacted at the level of Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) and requested that the action be stopped now. This offer was accepted with the condition that this operation is only being stopped, and if any misadventure takes place in the future, the operation will start again.

Opposition's question does not represent national sentiments correctly

The Defence Minister targeted the opposition and said that the opposition people ask how many of our planes were shot down, this question does not represent the national sentiments correctly. When the targets are big, questions are not asked on relatively small issues. This can divert attention from the security of the country, the honor and enthusiasm of the soldiers.

Rajnath sarcastically said that the opposition should have asked the question that how many Pakistani planes were shot down by our army and how many bases were destroyed. He said that one should not worry about the breaking of pens and pencils in the examination but should focus on the result.

Unmatched example of coordination among three wings of the army

Singh said that Operation Sindoor is an unmatched example of coordination between the three wings of the army (Army, Air Force and Navy) and a befitting reply was given to every action of Pakistan. More than 100 terrorists were killed in this operation and this number may be higher.

A decisive manifestation of India's policy against terrorism

The Defence Minister said that before carrying out Operation Sindoor, every aspect was studied very deeply and the option was chosen that only the terrorists and their hideouts were to be destroyed and there should be no harm to the common citizens of Pakistan. He said that Operation Sindoor was not just a military action but a decisive manifestation of India's policy against terrorism.

Singh said that there has been a remarkable change in the field of defence after 2014. India is fully committed to end every form of terrorism. The government and the army together are committed to the unity and integrity of the country and all necessary steps will be taken for this.
