Who is Sanjog Gupta new CEO of ICC


The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed Sanjog Gupta as the new CEO. With this, he has become the seventh CEO of the ICC.

Giving this information, the ICC said that Sanjog Gupta is a respected person in the media, entertainment and sports world. He joins the ICC with two decades of experience in various fields.

Sanyog Gupta was previously working as CEO-Sports at Jiostar.

On the appointment of Sanyog Gupta, ICC Chairman Jay Shah said, "I am happy to announce that Sanjog Gupta has been appointed as the CEO of ICC."

"Sanjog has extensive experience in sports and business, which will be beneficial for the ICC."

Sanjog Gupta started his career in the sports industry as a journalist, working for The Tribune in Delhi. On the educational front, Gupta holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Economics from Delhi University, which he completed in 2002.

Joined Star India in 2010

Gupta joined Star India in 2010 as the company's Assistant Vice-President. He became CEO of Sports at Disney & Star India in 2020, while holding different portfolios in sports.

After the merger of Viacom18 and Disney Star, Gupta was named the CEO of Sports & Live Experiences at JioStar in November 2024. With his contributions to sports broadcasting, Gupta has been hailed as the architect of India's modern sports ecosystem.

Sanjog also played an important role in the growth of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and ICC events. He was the behind the rise of Indian domestic sports leagues such as the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) and Indian Super League (ISL).
