3-day Rakhi Mela of SHGs at Bhopal Haat from Aug 5; what will be special in the fair?
The three-day Rakhi Mela of Self-Help Groups under Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission will start on August 5 at 10 am at Bhopal Haat. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Singh Patel will inaugurate the fair. Minister of State for Rural Development Radha Singh will also be present on this occasion.
Along with the inauguration of the fair, the campaign “Yeh Waqt Hamara Hai” for the prosperity and empowerment of the sisters of self-help groups under the Livelihood Mission will also be launched.
The annual calendar of the campaign will also be released in the fair, which will highlight the activities and achievements of the SHGs. The group products will be sold and displayed by the Didis of self-help groups coming from different districts in the fair. In the decoration of the fair, eco-friendly items will be used with the theme of "Sawan" to give a glimpse of the rural environment.

Visitors coming to the fair will get a feel of the rural environment
Visitors coming to the fair will get a feel of the rural environment when they will see swings, cots, bullock carts, pots, caps made by the tribal community of different districts from bamboo and other leaves etc. and food items like millets, Mahua etc. and other dishes from different regions of the state. During this, cultural performances will also be given by various folk artists.
A great display of the cultural heritage
This fair will not only be a celebration of the hard work and skill of self-help groups, but will also be a great display of the cultural heritage and community unity of Madhya Pradesh. The variety of products will add to the beauty of the fair. The fair will not only provide people an opportunity to shop but will also provide them an opportunity to witness the inspiring journey of self-reliance and entrepreneurship of the rural women associated with the group.
