Bhopal: Barkatullah University awarded "A" grade by NAAC; what new avenues will it open for BU?
Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar has congratulated and wished the Higher Education Department and the University family on the important and proud achievement of Bhopal-based Barkatullah University being accredited with "A" grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Parmar said that the state government is working with commitment towards providing quality and employment-oriented higher education to the students in the perspective of National Education Policy-2020. New dimensions are constantly being established in the field of higher education.
A grade opens numerous avenues for BU
The A grade opens numerous avenues for BU, allowing the revival of previously suspended distance mode courses. Additionally, it paves the way for enhanced opportunities in international collaborations, research grants, industry partnerships, and scholarships with foreign institutions.
BU now focused on attaining status of Central University
Vice Chancellor Prof. Suresh Kumar Jain said that the university is now focused on attaining the status of a Central University. He said that all recommendations from the 2023 assessment had been implemented and expressed confidence in achieving a better grade this time around. Previously, in 2023, BU received a B grade after a six-member team’s inspection, which led to disappointment among the faculty and staff.
Parmar saidd that under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Suresh Kumar Jain, the university is establishing new dimensions through its efforts. He said that receiving this recognition will open new avenues for institution's visibility on national and global platforms, along with enhancing international collaboration and research grants for the university. This will create new opportunities for better placements and employment for the students, he added.
