Bhopal Drug Case: Machhli family’s 3-storey mansion in Hathaikheda bulldozed

In Madhya Pradesh's capital Bhopal, the district administration has demolished a mansion of 15 thousand square feet with bulldozers in Hathaikheda.

This mansion belongs to Bhopal's Ahmed family alias Machhli family, whose members have been accused of rape, drug trafficking and illegal construction.

The case started in July, when Bhopal Police busted a drug racket and according to the police, during the interrogation of the accused arrested in this, information was received about the involvement of members of the Machhli family.

The municipal corporation and police squad demolished the illegal building constructed on 15 thousand square feet of government land with 6 JCB and Pokelin machines.

SDM Vinod Sonkia and other top police officials were present at the spot. A police official said that the house located at Hathaikheda has been constructed on government land, so the entire building is being demolished.

Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Chari Mishra said, "More than 10 FIRs have been registered in this case so far, in which some cases are related to drugs, weapons, rape and POCSO Act. So far, people of Ahmed family alias Machhli family, a woman from Thailand and a Nigerian man have also been arrested. Further investigation is still going on in this case".

Shafiq Machhli of Machhli family has been a senior official of BJP Minority Front. His son Yasin Ahmed alias Yasin Machli and brother Shahwar Ahmed alias Shahwar Machli, among others, have been arrested. The police claim that they have confiscated a pistol, MD drugs, and several mobile phones from Yasin.

So far, the district administration has confiscated or demolished properties worth about Rs 100 crore, including two farmhouses, a warehouse, a madrasa, a factory and a bungalow of the Machli family.
