Gujarat: Electric vehicles manufactured in India will be exported to 100 countries; PM Modi unveils Suzuki's 'E-Vitara' electric car in Ahmedabad
Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said here on Tuesday that electric vehicles manufactured in India will be exported to 100 countries, and hybrid battery electrode production will also start in the country.
Modi unveiled Suzuki's 'E-Vitara' electric car at Hansalpur in Ahmedabad district of Gujarat, inaugurated the Green Mobility initiative and said that a new chapter is being added to the Make in India journey amid the festive spirit of Ganeshotsav. From today, electric vehicles manufactured in India will be exported to 100 countries. He also announced that hybrid battery electrode production will also start in the country.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said that amid the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, a new chapter is being added to India's 'Make in India' journey. He said that this is an important leap towards the common goal of 'Make in India, Make for the World'.
PM Modi said that today gives a new dimension to the friendship between India and Japan, he congratulated all those associated with India, Japan and Suzuki Motor Corporation.
PM said that the seeds of India's success story were sown 12-13 years ago, in 2012, during his tenure as Chief Minister, land was allotted to Maruti Suzuki in Hansalpur. At that time also the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India was present. Those early efforts are now playing a vital role in fulfilling the current aspirations of the country.
The Prime Minister paid emotional tributes to the late Osamu Suzuki, who was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan by the Government of India. He said that he is happy to see the wide expansion of Osamu Suzuki's vision for Maruti Suzuki India.
