New Wings for Malwa’s Development: Dhar to Get Second Major Industrial Hub Similar to Pithampur: PM Modi to Perform Bhoomi-Pujan of Country’s First PM MITRA Park

Madhya Pradesh: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the state on August 25 to perform Bhoomi-Pujan of the country’s first PM MITRA Park at Badnawar in Dhar district — a major gift for the state’s development.

CM said that while other states are still in the initial preparation stages for their PM MITRA Parks, Madhya Pradesh will already be holding the groundbreaking ceremony on August 25. He said this has been made possible through continuous coordination with the Central Government.

Major boost to development of entire Malwa region

CM Mohan Yadav emphasised that once completed, the PM MITRA Park will give a major boost to the development of the entire Malwa region. The Dhar district area is poised to become the second large industrial hub after Pithampur.

Park will benefit cotton-producing farmers

The park will benefit cotton-producing farmers in the region and generate around 300,000 direct and indirect permanent jobs. Badnawar will also become part of the Indore Metropolitan City Area, gaining access to metropolitan facilities. Investors and companies setting up industries here will be provided with four-lane roads, rail connectivity, and air links.

CM Mohan Yadav reviewed preparations via video conferencing for the Prime Minister’s visit, the Bhoomi-Pujan and the public meeting with the Indore Commissioner and Dhar Collector on Sunday night.

Park is expected to generate around 3 lakh jobs

The PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Park to be set up in Dhar will be a key step in making India a global textile powerhouse. Spread over more than 2,158 acres with an investment exceeding Rs. 2,000 crore, it aims to become a textile hub through state-of-the-art infrastructure, sustainable development and strategic policy support. Based on the visionary ‘5F’ concept — ‘Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign’ — the park is expected to generate around 3 lakh jobs (one lakh direct and two lakh indirect).

Construction work is progressing rapidly

A Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) named “PM MITRA Park Madhya Pradesh Limited” has been formed after an MoU between the state government and the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Investment intents worth over Rs. 10,000 crores have been received. MoUs have also been signed with major industrial bodies such as the Indian Cotton Federation, Southern India Mills Association, Tiruppur Exporters Association, and the Textile Merchants Association (Dubai). Construction work is progressing rapidly — 60% of site leveling and the park’s main gate are complete.
