Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate Madhya Pradesh Police’s new emergency service Dial-112 on August 14 at 12:20 PM at the Kushabhau Thakre International Convention Centre, Bhopal. Director General of Police Kailash Makwana will also be present at the event.

Additional Director General of Police (Radio/Telecommunication) Sanjeev Shami informed that, marking a historic shift in public safety, Dial-112 is being established in Madhya Pradesh as an integrated, smart and multi-agency emergency response service, carrying forward the proud legacy of Dial-100. Considering the growing needs and the requirement for multi-agency coordination, the Dial-112 service is being launched.

All major services will be accessible through a single number

Now, all major services—including Police (100), Health/Ambulance (108), Fire (101), Women’s Helpline (1090), Cybercrime (1930), Railway Assistance (139), Highway Accident Response (1099), Natural Disaster (1079), and Women & Child Helplines (181, 1098)—will be accessible through a single number, 112.

System will also anticipate potential threats to ensure citizens’ safety

In view of the rapidly evolving technological landscape and the demand for high service quality, Dial-112 has been redesigned into a more efficient, intelligent and citizen-centric system. Leveraging new technologies such as data analytics, real-time location tracking, and IoT, the system will not only respond to emergencies but also anticipate potential threats to ensure citizens’ safety.

Key Features of the New Dial-112 System

1. A new contact centre with a capacity of 100 agents per shift and a 40-seat dispatch unit.

2. Migration from PRI lines to SIP-based trunk lines for smoother access to 112 calls.

3. Advanced Business Intelligence (BI) and MIS reporting tools.

4. Number masking solutions to protect privacy while improving communication between citizens and FRVs (First Responder Vehicles).

5. Comprehensive fleet management software to track FRV maintenance.

6. Non-voice channels such as chatbots for citizen interaction and complaint tracking.

7. Special mobile applications for citizens and police officers.

8. Human Resource Management System (HRMS) software with biometric attendance.

9. Dashboard cameras and body-worn cameras in FRVs for greater transparency.

Dial-112 Service in Madhya Pradesh (formerly Dial-100 Service)

Launched on November 1, 2015, Dial-100 was India’s first centralised, state-wide police emergency response service. It set a new benchmark in public safety by providing quick, technology-enabled assistance in both urban and rural areas. Operated from the state-of-the-art Central Command and Control Centre in Bhopal, trained call-takers received toll-free calls on 100, used computer-aided dispatch software to identify the nearest available FRV, and deployed it immediately.

Record Achievements of Dial-100 in the Last 10 Years (up to June 2025)

A total of 8 crore 99 lakh 4,390 calls were received, of which 2 crore 07 lakh 91,177 were actionable from the launch of the Dial-100 service until June 2025. Out of these, Dial-100 provided assistance to the public in 1 crore 97 lakh 02,536 cases.
