Discover What Makes Khari Village in MP's Sehore Unique and Popular for Homestay Tourism
Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India, is known for its rich culture, historical heritage and natural beauty. Now this state of ours is attracting tourists with a new experiment, called home stay tourism. Home stay tourism means that tourists stay in the house of local people instead of a hotel. This not only gives them a homely atmosphere, but they also get directly acquainted with the local culture, food, folk art and traditions.
Madhya Pradesh Tourism has tried to connect local youth and families with this area by starting the Home Stay Scheme. Under this, home stays are rapidly developing around tourist places like Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Orchha, Mandu, Pachmarhi, Panna, Kanha and Bandhavgarh including Khari village of Sehore district.
Khari village of Sehore district has become an example of rural homestay tourism today. People here are opening their homes for tourists. Tourists are staying here and enjoying rural life, farms, traditional food and folk culture.
Many tourists said that they liked the simplicity, intimacy and natural beauty of Khari village very much. This beauty is now attracting foreign tourists as well. The women of the village welcome tourists by serving their traditional dishes like dal-bati, sweets, tea and traditional dishes.
Many youth of the village have become guides and share information with visitors about village life, farming, and folk songs. Recently, trainee officers of Indian Foreign Service, officials of Panchayati Raj Ministry and guests of GIS visited Village Khari Home Stay and enjoyed the natural beauty here.
