India issues statement about new interim government of Nepal; PM Modi extends best wishes to Sushila Karki
India has reacted to the new interim government formed in Nepal on Friday.
The Indian Foreign Ministry has said that India will continue to work closely with Nepal for the well-being and prosperity of both countries and people.
The statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs said, "We welcome the formation of a new interim government under the leadership of Sushila Karki. We hope that this will promote peace and stability."
The statement said, "As a close neighbor, fellow democracy and long-time development partner, India will continue to work closely with Nepal for the well-being and prosperity of both countries and citizens."
PM extends his best wishes to Karki
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended his best wishes to Sushila Karki on assuming office as the Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Nepal. He reaffirmed that India remains firmly committed to the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Nepal.
In posts on X, he wrote:
“I extend my best wishes to Right Hon. Mrs. Sushila Karki on assuming office as the Prime Minister of the Interim Government of Nepal. India remains firmly committed to the peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Nepal.”
