"Operation Sindoor on the field of play" PM Modi on India's victory against Pakistan in Asia Cup-2025
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to the Indian cricket team for their resounding victory in Asia Cup 2025.
In a post on X, Modi wrote:
“#OperationSindoor on the games field.
Outcome is the same - India wins!
Congrats to our cricketers."
On the other hand, ACC President and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi wrote on the social media platform, "Dragging war into the game only shows your desperation and insults the basic spirit of the game."
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on Instagram, "A fantastic victory. The tremendous energy of our players has once again destroyed the opponents."
He said, "India's victory is certain no matter what the ground."
External Affairs minister S Jaishankar also wished Team India for its success and sought to convey the message that 'new' India is on a upward trajectory. "Congrats to Team India on winning the Asia Cup," read the post from EAM Jaishankar. His Post mentions a new India, a new India that delivers, indicating the upward growth trajectory of the nation in all dynamics.
Similarly, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath drove home the point that the country is excelling in multiple fields. "Whatever the field, victory will always be India's... Hearty congratulations to every player of the Indian cricket team! Jai Hind," tweeted the UP CM.
India's left-handed batsman Tilak Varma batted brilliantly in the final, helping India win its ninth Asia Cup title.
India achieved Pakistan's target of 147 runs for victory in 19.4 overs, losing only five wickets.
Tilak Varma was the hero of India's victory, scoring an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls. Shivam Dubey also contributed 33 runs.
Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets to restrict Pakistan's innings to 146 runs in 19.1 overs.
