Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended heartfelt congratulations to the Indian cricket team for their resounding victory in Asia Cup 2025.

In a post on X, Modi wrote:

On the other hand, ACC President and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi wrote on the social media platform, "Dragging war into the game only shows your desperation and insults the basic spirit of the game."

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on Instagram, "A fantastic victory. The tremendous energy of our players has once again destroyed the opponents."

He said, "India's victory is certain no matter what the ground."

External Affairs minister S Jaishankar also wished Team India for its success and sought to convey the message that 'new' India is on a upward trajectory. India's left-handed batsman Tilak Varma batted brilliantly in the final, helping India win its ninth Asia Cup title.

India achieved Pakistan's target of 147 runs for victory in 19.4 overs, losing only five wickets.

Tilak Varma was the hero of India's victory, scoring an unbeaten 69 off 53 balls. Shivam Dubey also contributed 33 runs.

Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets to restrict Pakistan's innings to 146 runs in 19.1 overs.
