The Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation at 5 PM Sunday evening.

The Prime Minister’s Office posted on X:

“PM @narendramodi will be addressing the nation at 5 PM this evening.”

However, the specific issues on which PM Modi will address the nation have not been disclosed. His address will take place a day before the start of Navratri.

New GST rates will come into effect on September 22nd, the first day of Navratri. It is believed that this will reduce the prices of a large number of products.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced earlier this month that the GST Council meeting had agreed on a two-rate GST system.

According to the Finance Minister, the meeting had agreed on two new rates: 5% and 18%, eliminating the 12% and 28% rate slabs.

Additionally, he may appeal for the promotion of indigenous products for the upcoming festival season in the country, a point he has mentioned during his visits to Manipur, Bihar, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

It is speculated that the PM may also discuss US President Trump's proposal to increase the application fee for H-1B visas.

According to a report, millions of Indians apply for this visa every year. In 2024, more than 3,00,000 Indians received this visa.

Prior to this, the PM addressed the nation at 8 pm on May 12th, mentioning Operation Sindoor. In his 22-minute message, Modi clarified India's stance on 12 key issues, including Operation Sindoor.
