This change will bring new hope and energy to many farmers' lives.

On social media, he mentioned that recognizing the hard work of sugarcane farmers is a key part of good governance. With support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government has set the new prices: Rs. 400 per quintal for early sugarcane and Rs. 390 per quintal for regular sugarcane. Sugarcane is vital for rural life and the economy: Minister

Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, the state's Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Minister, said that honoring farmers' hard work is very important. He said that sugarcane is vital for rural life and the economy, and the government is committed to giving farmers a fair price for their crops.

So far, the government has paid sugarcane farmers Rs 2,90,225 crore. In comparison, between 2007 and 2017, previous governments paid farmers only Rs 1,47,346 crore. This means the current government has paid Rs 1,42,879 crore more in just over eight years, Chaudhary said.

Four new sugar mills have opened, six closed mills have restarted

Currently, there are 122 sugar mills operating in Uttar Pradesh, making it the second-largest sugar-producing state in the country. The previous governments sold 21 mills at very low prices, but the current government has attracted Rs 12,000 crore in investments for the industry.

In the last eight years, four new sugar mills have opened, six closed mills have restarted, and the production capacity of 42 mills has increased, which is like adding eight new large mills. Additionally, two mills have installed CBG plants to produce alternative energy from sugarcane.
