IMD Weather Update: Cold Spell in Mountains, Heavy Rainfall in These 6 States, Check IMD Alert


IMD Weather Update: The monsoon season is over, and it's getting cold in the mountains. However, heavy rain is still occurring in many parts of the country. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has shared the weather forecast for Thursday, October 16th.

The forecast says that heavy rain is expected in many states, except for northern India, where the rain has stopped. In Northeast India, the rains have also stopped. Here’s what the weather will be like in different states.

Morning and evening will be chilly in Delhi

In Delhi, the temperature will be a high of 31 degrees Celsius and a low of 19 degrees Celsius. It will be chilly in the morning and evening, so people will need to wear warm clothes, but it will be warm during the day. The same weather is expected in nearby states like Haryana, Chandigarh, and Punjab.

Heavy rain in Southern states

Southern states are expected to experience heavy rainfall on October 16. The IMD has issued an orange alert, predicting very heavy rainfall in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. A yellow alert has also been issued, predicting heavy rainfall in Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, and southern Karnataka.

Weather in UP, MP, and Bihar

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, both western and eastern Uttar Pradesh will experience sunny skies tomorrow. Bihar will experience similar conditions. No warning has been issued here. However, isolated thunderstorms and drizzle are possible in Madhya Pradesh.

Temps dipping in hilly states

In the hilly states like Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, it is getting cold. People are wearing warm clothes in the morning and evening, but it’s not very cold yet, so no warnings have been issued, and these states are in the green zone.
