The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has welcomed the agreement on the first phase of President Donald Trump’s peace plan.
PM Modi said this development reflects the strong leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He expressed hope that the release of hostages and enhanced humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza will bring much-needed respite and pave the way for lasting peace in the region.

A historic opportunity: Sharif
Meanwhile, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the agreement represents a historic opportunity to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East.
The Pakistani PM posted on Instagram, "President Trump's leadership throughout the negotiation process demonstrates his unwavering commitment to world peace."
He also praised the efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye.
A big day for Israel: Netanyahu
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the agreement reached between Hamas and Israel on the first phase of the Gaza peace deal a big day for Israel.
Netanyahu said he would convene a meeting of his government on Thursday to approve the agreement and bring Israeli hostages back home.
He posted on Twitter, "With the approval of the first phase of the plan, all our hostages will be brought home. This is a diplomatic success and a national and moral victory for Israel."
He wrote, "We have reached this crucial turning point thanks to the tireless efforts of our friend, President Trump."
Thanking US President Donald Trump, Netanyahu wrote, "I thank President Trump for his leadership, partnership, and unwavering commitment to the security of Israel and the freedom of our hostages."
