SIR in 12 States: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar has announced the start of the second phase of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in 12 states. The voter lists in these states will be frozen from midnight today. New voters can fill out Form 6, Form 7 for deletion, and Form 8 for correction, for which a choice of 12 documents has been provided.

The Election Commission has met with election officials from all states and union territories and discussed the process in detail. The voter lists in the states where SIR will be implemented will be frozen from midnight today.
These three forms for adding, deleting, and correcting names
The Election Commission has released three separate forms for updating the voter list.
1. Form 6: New voters or those not yet included in the list can add their names to the electoral roll through this form.
2. Form 7: Voters who are already on the list but now wish to have their names removed can apply by filling out Form 7.
3. Form 8: This form is for voters who wish to make changes to their voter card or correct any errors.
12 Document Options for Filling the Form
The Commission has provided a total of 12 documents to fill out the electoral roll-related forms. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar stated that these documents include proof of identity, such as passport and education certificate. The key documents required for filling out the form are:
• Pension payment order issued by the central or state government.
• Certificate issued by a government or local body, bank, post office, or LIC.
• Passport and educational certificate.
• Permanent residence certificate.
• Forest rights certificate and caste certificate.
• NRC.
