MP: Cricketer Kranti Gaud has brought glory to Madhya Pradesh, says CM Mohan Yadav; announces construction of a new cricket stadium in Chhatarpur

Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Indian Women’s Cricket Team has made the entire nation proud by winning the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Fast bowler Kranti Gaud, hailing from Ghuwara in Chhatarpur district, has brought glory to Madhya Pradesh on the global stage. Despite facing tough circumstances, limited resources, and social challenges, Kranti achieved this milestone through hard work and determination. CM Dr. Yadav said that Kranti Gaud is an inspiration not only for Madhya Pradesh but for all daughters of the nation.

CM Mohan Yadav announced that Kranti Gaud will be honored on November 15 in Jabalpur during the state-level function celebrating Bhagwan Birsa Munda Jayanti. He also announced the construction of a new cricket stadium in Chhatarpur to support players’ practice and development. Responding to an appeal for the reinstatement of Kranti Gaud’s father, the CM assured that necessary action would be taken as per rules.

CM Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed these thoughts at a felicitation ceremony organized at the Chief Minister’s residence in honor of Madhya Pradesh’s talented fast bowler Kranti Gaud, a key member of the World Cup 2025-winning Indian Women’s Cricket Team. The CM welcomed Kranti Gaud with a bouquet and felicitated her parents Munna Singh Gaud and Neelam Singh Gaud, as well as Coach Rajeev Birthare, by presenting them with shawls, bouquets, and mementos.

During the ceremony, girls from the Madhya Pradesh Sports Academy interacted with Cricketer Kranti Gaud.



Yoga, Meditation, and Fitness Are Essential for Focus and Success: CM

While interacting with Kranti Gaud and the Sports Academy girls, CM motivated them to stay fit and emphasized that yoga and meditation are vital for fitness, concentration, and a better life.

The girls asked Kranti about her fitness routine, interests, struggles, training discipline, and experiences at national and international tournaments. They also asked the Chief Minister about his childhood interests and favorite sports. 

Dr. Yadav shared that in Ujjain, it is traditional to bathe in the Kshipra River during festivals and fasts, and he too often accompanied his mother for these rituals. He said that he especially enjoyed swimming and playing hockey during his childhood.



Kranti Gaud inspired the girls

In the presence of the Chief Minister, Cricketer Kranti Gaud inspired the girls by saying that continuous effort is essential for achieving goals. She said, “We must remain committed to our goals and the expectations of our parents. Success surely follows consistent effort.” Kranti emphasized that fitness and dietary discipline are key to success in sports, revealing that she completely gave up sweets to maintain discipline.

Coach Rajeev Birthare said that Kranti’s fitness had always been a top priority, which is why she never faced issues even in high-level international matches. He added that her fitness helped her recover quickly from injuries and return to the field stronger each time. Coach Birthare encouraged the Sports Academy girls to maintain regular exercise, yoga, fitness, and dietary discipline for a bright and successful future.

The event was attended by Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Vishwas Sarang, MLA  Bhagwandas Sabnani, and a large number of Sports Academy girls.
