Bihar: Has infighting between RJD and Congress worsened? Is alliance breaking? What RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said?
Following the crushing defeat in the Bihar assembly elections-2025, a blame game has begun within the Grand Alliance. First, the Congress party called the alliance with the RJD a losing proposition, and now, in a counterattack, the RJD has given a strong response. RJD spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said that whatever votes the Congress party receives in Bihar are due to the RJD. The RJD only suffers losses because of the Congress party. Despite the clamor for seats, their performance is extremely poor.
'Cong's support base is shrinking'
The RJD spokesperson said that the Congress should consider why, as a national party, its support base is shrinking. Why is the party contracting? This is a matter of concern. They should reflect on this. What questions can the Congress raise against the RJD? The RJD is the biggest force in Bihar.
'What is the Cong's standing in Bihar?'
The Rashtriya Janata Dal spokesperson further stated that whatever seats the Congress gets are because of the RJD. The Congress takes the seats and then wastes them by losing. What is the Congress's standing in Bihar? The party should refrain from making such statements. And those who are giving such statements are certainly looking for another place to go.
'What benefit does RJD get from an alliance with Cong?'
Regarding the question of breaking the alliance, Mrityunjay Tiwari said that the alliance belongs to the people. Even today, the RJD has received the most votes. What benefit does the RJD get from an alliance with the Congress? They jump into the elections on the strength of our support, and yet they are giving us advice.
In the Bihar elections, the Grand Alliance was limited to only 35 seats. Out of these, the RJD won 25 seats after contesting 141, while the Congress could only win 6 seats out of 61 contested. Since then, there has been turmoil within the Grand Alliance.
This is not the first time that infighting has been witnessed between the RJD and the Congress. There were significant disputes over seat-sharing even during the elections.
