Several buses and smaller vehicles collided on the Delhi-Agra Yamuna Expressway in Mathura on Tuesday morning around 4:30 AM due to dense fog. Four people have died in the accident.

Seven buses and three cars collided on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura due to fog. The vehicles caught fire after the collision. Four people were burned to death. The death toll may rise further.

The accident occurred in the Baldev area of ​​Mathura. Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar said that the accident was caused by dense fog.

The accident took place 127 kilometers from Agra towards Noida.

Mathura SSP Shlok Kumar said, "Four people have died in this accident and 25 are injured. The injured are being treated in the hospital."

So far, 66 people have been reported injured in the accident. However, an eyewitness said that 150 people were sent to the hospital in 20 ambulances. Mathura DM Chandra Prakash Singh said that police, fire brigade, and SDRF teams completed the rescue operation in 6 hours. A long traffic jam occurred on the highway after the accident.

It is being said that there was dense fog on the expressway. Suddenly, a bus slowed down. As a result, several vehicles collided with each other. Eyewitness Bhagwan Das said that after the collision, it felt like a bomb had exploded. People were breaking the bus windows and jumping out.

Saurabh from Kanpur, who jumped out of the bus and escaped after the accident, said that the fog was very thick and visibility was very poor.

Ambulance worker Amit Kumar said that the exact number of casualties cannot be determined yet. Meanwhile, CM Yogi announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh each for the families of the deceased.
