Bhopal Madhya Pradesh: The city of lakes Bhopal is all set for a splash of Kashmir-like magic right in the heart of the city. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will launch the service of 20 new "shikara boats" at the picturesque Upper Lake Boat Club on Thursday, December 4, at 9 a.m. The event, chaired by Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar, will be graced by the presence of Assembly members.

This unique initiative to operate Shikaras in Bhopal's Upper Lake, modeled on Kashmir's famous Dal Lake, has been undertaken. This initiative will not only give the state's water tourism a new identity on the national stage but will also provide a means for tourists to spend some relaxing moments in the lap of nature.

The primary objective of this initiative is to give the state a new identity at the national and international level. In keeping with CM Dr. Yadav's vision, Shikaras are being operated on such a large scale for the first time in the state.

Keeping in mind the sensitivity towards environmental protection, all 20 Shikaras have been constructed using pollution-free modern technology. They are made from fiber-reinforced polyurethane, a high-quality, non-reactive material that does not react chemically with the water.

This will ensure the complete preservation of the ecology and purity of the water of the lake. These Shikaras have been built by an internationally renowned organization whose Shikaras have previously been very popular with tourists in Kerala, Bengal, and Assam. Bhopal's Boat Club will be ready to welcome tourists with these attractive Shikaras.

Tourists will enjoy bird watching, local cuisine

During these Shikara boat rides, tourists will also be able to engage in bird watching, with binoculars provided on the Shikaras. Tourists will also be able to purchase organic vegetables and fruits available on other Shikaras, as well as handicraft products made in Madhya Pradesh. During the ride, tourists will also enjoy local cuisine.
