In Damoh district, a public display of discord among leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has surfaced, potentially tarnishing the party's discipline.

The incident is related to a recent meeting held at the Damoh district BJP office, where BJP MLA Umadevi Khatik accused two ministers of her own government of interfering in her constituency.

As the matter escalated, the in-charge minister, Inder Singh Parmar, immediately intervened to calm the situation, stating that they are a large family and the matter would be resolved internally. He also emphasized that such incidents should not recur.

Surprisingly, the in-charge minister himself was present at the meeting and was visibly taken aback by the statement. This incident has become a hot topic of discussion in the political circles of Damoh district.

Party workers are speculating that the issue is not merely about discontent, but also indicative of a growing power struggle in the district's politics. However, the party organization has termed it an internal dispute.

It is reported that MLA Umadevi Khatik clearly stated in the meeting that if the Damoh in-charge minister cannot stop the interference of the two ministers in Hatta, then they should open their own office there, and she would resign from her post. Although the MLA did not name the two ministers, her statement was quite revealing.

On the other hand, Minister of State for Culture, Tourism, and Religious Affairs, Dharmendra Singh Lodhi, while speaking to reporters, denied any interference. While the matter appears to have cooled down on the surface, discussions about political encroachment are still rife in the political corridors of Damoh.
