The 11th International Forest Fair began on Wednesday at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal. Visitors can enjoy various dishes like Dal-Paniya and Gondi cuisine. Around 350 stalls have been set up, featuring products from 24 states, including medicinal herbs. A kids' zone is also available.

The fair was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Minister Dilip Ahirwar, MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, and Municipal Corporation Chairman Kishan Suryavanshi were also present on the stage. 

This year, the fair is being held on the theme of "Prosperous Forests, Happy Forests" and will continue until December 23rd. 



350 stalls set up at fair

The 350 stalls showcase products from district  unions, forest departments, forest wealth centers, medicinal herb collectors, producers, Ayurvedic medicine manufacturers, and traditional food manufacturers and vendors from across the state.

The fair features 10 government stalls, 24 stalls from other states, 16 exhibition stalls, 136 private stalls, and 26 food stalls, where visitors can savor the flavors of Alirajpur's Dal Paniya and Bandhavgarh's Gondi cuisine. In addition, there will be 50 OPD stalls and a kids' zone.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that natural products are included in our food, whether it's turmeric or spices. During the Covid pandemic, when the herbal decoction (Kadha) became popular, its demand was so high that supplies fell short. 

CM provided information about medicinal herbs and their usefulness in daily life. He also gave detailed information about the food stalls at the fair. 



200 Ayurvedic doctors and specialists will provide consultations

Forest Minister Dilip Ahirwar said that 200 Ayurvedic doctors and specialists will provide free medical consultations at the forest fair. Managing Director of the State Forest Produce Federation, Dr. Samita Rajoura, said that cultural programs will also be held at the fair, including orchestra performances, street plays, folk dances, and drawing, fancy dress, and singing competitions for school students.

On the evening of December 17, a traditional dance performance from Dindori was presented. Cultural programs will be held during the evenings on coming days.
