Second phase of BLA's ‘Operation Herof’: 10 security personnel and 37 militants killed in Balochistan, claims Pakistan
Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has claimed that security forces foiled "attacks by terrorists" in several areas of Balochistan on Saturday.
Mohsin Naqvi said that security forces took timely and effective action during these attacks, killing 37 militants.
He said that 10 security personnel were also killed while foiling these attacks.
Earlier on Saturday morning, reports of explosions and gunfire emerged from several cities, including Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.
The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attacks and calling them the second phase of 'Operation Herof'.
Balochistan Chief Minister's advisor Shahid Rind claimed in a statement that, "After more than 70 terrorists were killed in various locations in Balochistan in the last two days, the terrorists attempted attacks in some places in Balochistan, which were foiled by timely action by the police and FC."
Second phase of BLA's ‘Operation Herof’
This fierce attack is reportedly part of the second phase of the BLA's ‘Operation Herof’. Under this operation, cities such as Quetta, Nushki, Mastung, Dalbandin, Kalat, Kharan, Gwadar, Pasni, Turbat, and Buleda were targeted simultaneously. The BLA claims that its suicide fighters directly attacked Pakistani army and ISI camps. In Quetta, police stations were completely destroyed, and vehicles parked on the streets were also damaged. So far, the deaths of 10 Pakistani security personnel have been confirmed in this violence.
Fierce fighting near Gwadar Port
Intense fighting has also erupted near the strategically important Gwadar Port. Heavy gunfire and plumes of black smoke rising into the sky have been observed there. A striking aspect of this latest fighting is the active participation of female fighters from the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) in the operation. Baloch leader Sardar Akhtar Mengal expressed deep concern over the situation, stating that he had never witnessed such a horrific situation in his entire life.
