Trump justifies plan to acquire Greenland, says I simply want a piece of ice that Europe is unwilling to give but will US use force?
US President Donald Trump has justified his plan to acquire Greenland to the world. Speaking at the World Economic Forum-2026 (WEF) on Wednesday, he said that no country other than the United States can protect Greenland.
However, for the first time, Trump stated that the US would not use force to acquire Greenland. He called Denmark ungrateful for opposing the acquisition.

He complained that he simply wanted a piece of ice that Europe was unwilling to give him, and that the US would remember this. Trump said that Europe was going in the wrong direction.
Trump also criticized countries like France and Canada. He used offensive language towards the people of Somalia, calling them "low-intelligence" and "pirates."
No country other than US can defend Greenland
Trump said no country other than the United States can defend Greenland. During World War II, when Germany occupied Denmark, it was the US that protected Greenland. Returning Greenland to Denmark was a big mistake on America's part.

According to Trump, Canada receives a lot of things for free from the US. They should be grateful to the US for this, but they are not. Canada survives only because of the US. The Canadian Prime Minister should remember this the next time he makes a statement.
I doubt whether NATO will help the US if needed
