How Mathura is gearing up for Barsana's world-famous Laddumar and Lathmar Holi?
Mathura: Preparations for the world-famous Laddumar and Lathmar Holi have intensified in Barsana. The administration is making extensive preparations to ensure better and safer arrangements for devotees this year. On Thursday, District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, along with administrative officials, conducted a field inspection of the Barsana area and reviewed the arrangements.
The District Magistrate said that all departments should work in coordination to ensure that every devotee visiting Barsana returns with a positive and grand image. He directed that traffic management near the railway crossing on the Govardhan-Barsana road be maintained to avoid traffic jams. He also directed that the Barsana area be decorated with theme-based wall paintings and that electric poles and transformers be covered for safety.
Food safety
The administration is also vigilant regarding food safety during the Holi festival. The District Magistrate directed the Food Safety Department to launch a campaign against adulterated food items and take strict action against those selling fake gulal. Shopkeepers have been urged to sell quality products.
Security measures
As part of security measures, CCTV cameras have been installed and drones have been installed in the fair area. Special attention has been directed to keep an eye on anti-social elements and rumor mongers. Adequate police force will be deployed at the control room and watch tower.
Fair area to be plastic-free
In addition, instructions have been given to make the fair area plastic-free.
Inspecting the helipad site, the District Magistrate directed that barricading and cleanliness be ensured. The routes leading to Rangili Chowk, Katara Chowk, Lado Gate, and the Shri Radha Rani Temple were also inspected. The Public Works Department was instructed to complete road repairs and parking arrangements on time, while the Irrigation Department was asked to clean drains and remove encroachments.
